In iCalamus, you can use a grid which can be defined by yourself. Common usages are millimeter paper simulation and page grids for book layouts.
When you activate this menu item and see a check mark in it, the currently defined document grid will be shown on screen.
As with all other guides, the document grid will not be printed.
